Prithivi Narayan Shaha

Prithvi Narayan Shah, founder of the modern state of Nepal. A member of the ruling Shah family of Gorkha principality, he conquered the three Malla kingdoms and consolidated them. . He also established the capital of Nepal at Kathmandu. After unifying Nepal, he annexed territory in northern India, as well as large portions of the Plateau of Tibet and of the valleys of the Inner Himalayas. He sealed Nepal's border and maintained peaceful but distant relations with the British.

Narayan Gopal

Narayan Gopal is by far the most prominent and popular singer in Nepali music history. He is popular as Swor Samrat in Nepali music. He is well known as a singer but was also an accomplished composer. His voice range allowed him to sing songs of every genre of Nepali music.....

King Birendra

Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev (8 December 1945 – 1 June 2001) was a King of Nepal. The son of King Mahendra, whom he succeeded in 1972, he reigned until his death in the 2001 Nepalese royal massacre. He is the most internationally well-known Nepalese king in modern history.

Laxmi Prasad

Laxmi Prasad Devkota (November 12, 1909 – September 14, 1959), was a Nepali poet. He is arguably the best writer in the Nepali Language. He has written great works in the Nepalese Language. He is best known for the poem "Muna Madan."There are several tribute to the poem Muna Madan.This is a poem which shows poverty among the people of Nepal.

Bhimsen Thapa

Bhimsen Thapa was born in the small district of Gorkha. His father, Major Amar Singh Thapa, was a faithful soldier of Prithvi Narayan Shah. At the age of 11, Bhimsen Thapa came into contact with the Nepalese Royal Palace when his bratabandha ceremony was held together with the Crown Prince Rana Bahadur Shah's. He served as Nepal's first Prime Minister for 31 years, under 6 different Nepali kings. Thapa is regarded as a national hero in Nepal: as a wise and fair leader who introduced a number of impoprtant social and military reforms.

Tenzing Sherpa

Tenzing Norgay, born Namgyal Wangdi and often referred to as Sherpa Tenzing, was a Nepali Sherpa mountaineer. Among the most famous mountain climbers in history, he was one of the first two individuals known to have reached the summit of Mount Everest, which he accomplished with Edmund Hillary on 29 May 1953. He was named by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people of the 20th century.
